Cadel Evans to Make a Comeback

36-year-old Cadel Evans wants to ride at the upcoming tour de France after a hiatus of one year. This time he would be taking the help of Tejay van Garderen in case he is not able to win on his own. Participating in the Tour of Oman and next week’s Tirreno-Adriatico coming up next week would give him an impetus required for Tour de France. That is not enough, and then he would team up with Tejay.

Back in 2011, Cadel Evans first burst into the cycling arena by winning his first tour de France against competitors like Fränk and Andy Schleck and Alberto Contador. But due to a virus attack in the last year, his performance was not worth it. He had also gone on world tour with his wife.

Still, Cadel Evans fought his way up to the seventh place at tour de France 2012 among the sky team’s riders who were mostly ahead of everybody. He went on to participate in the USA Pro Cycling Challenge but went out of the season when he was just halfway there. That was in august 25. Since then, Cadel has not been seen participating in any event whatsoever. When asked about the time-out, he said that he needed to introspect into his career.

Cadel Evans was probably analyzing his faults and the reasons why he was not able to do well in the last USA Pro Cycling challenge. Hence he went back to training and now would be making a comeback with the tour of Tirreno-Adriatico and is aiming giving his best for the team. But he has ruled out the idea of Tejay Van Garderen to become the team leader of the upcoming events. And this fact has also been gladly accepted by Tejay who too feels Cadel can still be a leader.
