Contador Working Hard For Tour De France

Alberto Contador, the two time Tour de France winner has been dropped from testifying in the ‘Operacion Puerto’ trial in Madrid according to the lawyer governing the case for his former team manager Manolo Saiz.

Ignacio Arroyo, the lawyer on Saiz’ side said he would decide how to go about the case and is not in need of contador at the moment. The case, filed for ‘crime against public health’ is being tried in Madrid and has Siaz amongst the five other defendants.

Cadel Evans to Make a Comeback

36-year-old Cadel Evans wants to ride at the upcoming tour de France after a hiatus of one year. This time he would be taking the help of Tejay van Garderen in case he is not able to win on his own. Participating in the Tour of Oman and next week’s Tirreno-Adriatico coming up next week would give him an impetus required for Tour de France. That is not enough, and then he would team up with Tejay.

Cadel Evans to Skip Adelaide Tour

Cadel Evans has been reported to be preparing himself to race along with a group of corporate people in order to raise money fro fund collection for Giant steps, an organization for the Autistic children.

Meanwhile his teammate from BMC team is all set to get the cycle rolling at the Tour Down Under in South Australia in the coming month. Presumably, he is not going to compete in the biggest rod race of Australia. But he is doing this for a just cause and feels fine about it. By the time the race starts, he will be seen practicing in Europe in a training camp.

Davis Millar criticises UCI

Britain’s famous cyclist, David Millar alleged that UCI (International Cycling Union) lacked the leadership to stop the doping culture. Millar thinks that UCI must come forward and take some responsibilities regarding the existing doping culture in cycling.

Thomas Voeckler nets stage win

Thomas Voeckler, a Frenchman from Team Europcar riders, won the stage 16 in the 2012 Tour de France at his amazing performance in the 197 km stage of the road race.
After crossing the finish line quickly in a period of 5 hours, 35mins 2secs, he was classified as one of the race favorites.

Chris Anker Sorensen (Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Bank) went down to the second spot, and Gorka Izaguirre Insausti (Euskaltel-Euskadi) fell on the third spot.

Riis promises Contador return

Bjarne Riis expects to connect Alberto Contador to a deal in next few weeks.
