We set out on our trip In cars, train and bus For the start we dare not skip Without all of us.
We’d ride each day and look forward to Laurie’s Rybeana As he travelled in the lorries For there were no volunteers no keener.
At the end of day, we’d chat about the ride And who had the hide To pass all of us Especially the sag wagon bus.
We’d see the Mouse truck And think of all the muck But then came the volunteers Who’d pass us with cheers.
Oops, as said Robyn, a flat we’d declare And John would glare As he pulled on his surgical gloves But wait, Robyn just had to shove With another flat And said, well, that’s that.
Oops again, but where is her phone? Surely not lost! Oh it’ll turn up And sure enough A check in lost property - That looks like my phone Or it’s a clone!
Dale would go cruisin And say ‘I’m not losin’ For that would decrease my top speed of 51!’ Which we all thought was top gun.
Robyn is into making a dramatic appearance, But she made a low clearance with a Hurdle over the bars (Which we’ve seen can hold hers bras) And crash, splat As she spat Out came the blood and bruises. To show the first aid cruisers.
But she was also ‘A Little One’ To one old one Who looked down and said ‘don’t turn round For you’ll miss the beautiful views’ Which we knew were to abound So we stopped to take in the views and her news.
Ken thought he was free to walk and ride But no a sneeze soon put an end to his pride. The masseuses said what happened to you And he’d reply ‘Achoo! It hurts like hell When I bend to ring my bell.’ I can ride a 100 but not walk As he proudly bent down to talk.
Brenda and Trevor we often saw For they were up early without a snore. They would cruise the headwinds And lead the wins With a PJ prize Much to our surprise. Where’s my wallet Trevor was heard to say And to his surmise It was handed back in to hold his hard earned pay.
We made home in one piece For we were at peace For having such a great trip Without any great flips (Robyn excluded). But who cares for we dare to look forward to next year’s since we’ll all be there!
